Honey lemon garlic mop sauce

While bringing one cup of honey to a boil, take about 15 to 20 cloves of garlic, sliced in half, and toss them into a pint size mason jar.

Scrub a large lemon and slice it thinly. Toss it in the jar with the garlic.

When the honey comes to the boil carefully pour it into the jar.

Put the lid on it and leave for at least a few hours.

After it cools, strain it and add 1/3 of a cup of soy
sauce.  Shake to mix.

Use as a mopping sauce on any cut of pork, chicken, beef ribs. Also delectable as a dipping sauce. If you like heat add a pinch of  red pepper flakes to the honey.

I love this stuff. And it’s so simple. Use it as you would any bbq sauce.

Ingredients:

1/3 c. ketchup
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. soy sauce
1/4 c. crushed pineapple, drained
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
1/4 tsp ground ginger
a pinch of red pepper flakes
1 tsp. oil or butter

Bring all ingredients to a low boil and simmer for a few minutes.
If you want it thinner add some pineapple juice.
