{"id":79,"date":"2009-03-05T15:07:55","date_gmt":"2009-03-05T23:07:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spice-guy.com\/kitchen\/?p=79"},"modified":"2009-03-10T13:00:53","modified_gmt":"2009-03-10T21:00:53","slug":"bangers-mash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spice-guy.com\/kitchen\/bangers-mash\/","title":{"rendered":"Bangers &#038; mash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>4 large baking potatoes, peeled and quartered<br \/>\n1 teaspoon butter, divided<br \/>\n1\/4 cup milk, or as needed<br \/>\nsalt and pepper to taste<br \/>\n3\/4 pound beef sausages<br \/>\n1\/4 cup diced onion<br \/>\n1\/2 (.75 ounce) packet dry brown gravy mix<br \/>\n1\/2 cup water, or as needed<br \/>\n<strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).<br \/>\nPlace potatoes in a saucepan with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, and cook until tender, about 20 minutes.<br \/>\nDrain, and mash with 1 teaspoon of butter, and enough milk to reach your desired creaminess.<br \/>\nContinue mashing, or beat with an electric mixer, until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.<br \/>\nIn a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until heated through. Remove from pan, and set aside.<br \/>\nAdd remaining teaspoon of butter to the skillet, and fry the onions over medium heat until tender.<br \/>\nMix gravy mix and water as directed on the package, and add to the skillet with the onions.
